It's the 2nd Day of December
...and I should be cleaning, organizing, and such. But I would rather be reading and writing. So, a little reading and writing first, then on to the rest of my day. Today, the second day of December and our only car, the Jeep is in the shop. Yep, needs a new water pump and alternator. I am just totally bummed! As luck would have it, our service contract expired 27 days ago. Although, it may have been expired prior due to miles on the Jeep, not really sure and irrelevant at this point.
I'm grateful we have a car to drive, I'm grateful that it is paid for and I have money to fix it, but I am bummed that we have to spend the money right before Christmas especially when I don't have a paycheck coming this month, of all months. I am getting paid on a contract basis and our project is done, well it has some rework, but that's another story. So, thanks for letting me get that out of my system. I'm going to be a little sad when we hand over the money.. but I do enjoy my Jeep and I need it. It's all a part of life and I do love mine!
So on to the good things... Rich got all the Christmas decorations down last night and boy is that a chore in itself, we have a lot. I believe the lights on the house are going up tonight and I will start decorating the inside. We will get a tree this weekend, trying to decide if we go to our traditional spot, College Park Trees or if we go to a tree farm and cut down a tree. Which is kinda like chasing down a chicken before dinner, I don't mind buying one prepackaged but I don't want to kill it or even think about it being alive. Oh I'm so perplexed. I guess with tree farms, the trees are grown for that reason so my conscience is cleared. (so quickly too) Sorry to digress. Can you believe we have Santa's Christmas Tree Farm in Florida. My cousin Madison is going and gave me the website to check it out. Santa's Christmas Tree Forest.
I do remember doing this a long time ago with the kids were very little. We went with their cousins, Jessica, Nathan and Markus to pick out a tree. I need to find those pictures. It was great being together picking out a tree with family.
So now it will be the three of us, Rich, Bekah and I and we will have a fun time no matter where we get the tree. As with most things we do, it is an event!
23 Days and counting!
The pictures are from St. Augustine, part II of our Holiday Kick-off 2009.
Peace & Love,
Kim
