Rachelle Mee Chapman created "8 Things."
She calls it a little game she made up for herself
in an attempt to quite down her "monkey mind."
To read more, check out her "8 Things" blog HERE.
(Only 8 is going to be tough!)
1. Friends are people that can forget about themselves for a moment when you are in need, if only to ask... "How are you?" and then LISTEN. I married my best friend.
2. How to be a mother of a deployed Marine.
(I'm still learning)
3. Being laid off from a job that there was no passion for is still tough on the psyche and takes some recovery time.
4. I love photography, digi-scrapbooking, and blogging.
5. NYC is exhilarating with friends and for a girl's weekend with my daughter! Anytime really.
6. Unravelling... I needed it and then some.
7. There is peace in the simple things. Life is short.
8. Making new friends and reconnecting with old ones is energizing.
This is a 2009-2010 (& beyond) "initiative".
Peace & Love,
Kim

hey sweet friend! I have missed checking in on you and it is only this week that I am beginning to feel a sense of normalcy returning. Great list- I am planning a trip to NYC in Feb and can't wait. Blogher '10 is in NYC too, I am thinking about attending and hoping I can convince you too! I'll need a room mate and would love a little dance party action. Did you recently get laid off? I know what you mean about it being tough, even if you didn't like the job. I hope you are doing well and your family is too- we keep your boy in our prayers and appreciate his service. I hope you are having a fabulous Tuesday!
Great List, I have to get mine up.
I was laid off a few years ago and it can be so tough, I ended up getting a part time job finally and it is working out still. Keeping you and yours in my thoughts.
Unravelling will surely be on my list also....
Thank you Amelia and Karen for your kinds words and keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
I got laid off in April, working contract work right now but it has been a bit challenging. Although I'm loving the freedom and didn't work at all during the summer or during the holidays. Great for my family, hard on the budget. It's starting to catch up with me. :) Should have some opportunities soon though so I am grateful for that. I'm looking into Blogher '10 I would love to go...
