ICE ICE Baby

Ice, Ice Baby... "All right stop collaborate and listen."
No actually this not really about the '80s tune by the renowned artist Vanilla Ice. It is about our Holiday kick off extravaganza! Yep, I said it... EXTRAVAGANZA!
Every year for as long as I can remember (& for those who know me that could have been last year, my memory isn't that great) we have been kicking off the holidays with a family event of some sort. One year we went to see a traveling Cirque show in St. Pete, then went to Busch Gardens, we've gone to see the Christmas Carol at a local performance theatre, and last year we went to Walt Disney World. We set one day or in some cases a weekend aside to do something different, something we haven't done during the year or for a long time. It is a wonderful tradition and I always look forward to spending this uinterrupted time together.
This year, Rich surprised Bekah and I with tickets to see ICE at the Gaylord Palms. This is about the 7th year that ICE has come to Orlando, but we have never been.
Inside it is 9 degrees in the exhibit! Yes, 9 degrees, luckily they provide the parkas. We were still cold, except Rich who wore layered clothing, gloves and a hat. And to think we were mocking him (with LOVE of course)... he was the smart one! He was the only one out of the group that grew up in chilly weather, the rest of us are Floridians. The ice sculptures were amazing of the North Pole, a life size carousel, a life size Nativity scene carved out of crystal ice, a huge slide with the 8 reindeers, and more. It was really cool.
We had a fun time, we went with our good friends, really family.. Fred and Lauren. This was part one of our Holiday kick off. After the ICE exhibit, Rich, Bekah and I drove to St. Augustine for lunch, (a little over 1.5 hours away from Orlando)to do some shopping in the quaint shops and to see their Christmas lights and decorations. I love spending this time with my family...and Zack is never far from our thoughts. Merry Christmas.
Peace & Love,

Kim
